Vaneeta Mahtani: Founder of Yoga Logic

From a very young age, I began to question the nature of existence, and my biggest quest was wanting to know how to be happy. After obtaining a BA in Management Studies from Leeds University in 1998, I felt there had to be more to life than what lay ahead. I set about on a mission to find out what happiness meant and how to achieve it.

In 2001, I travelled to India where I studied Reiki Healing and Yoga. By 2006, I had a diploma from the College of Naturopathic Nutrition. Since then I have trained in various disciplines including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Planning, and Leadership and Management. My journey has also taken me to the depths of the Himalayas where I encountered wise spiritual masters, who have chosen a life of purity and restraint. Through them I was able to discover what other possibilities in life exist.  I have had the great fortune of going on pilgrimages to mystical lands and have experienced dimensions of existence that I never knew were possible.

My travels have bestowed on me unimaginably profound and wonderful experiences. I have lived with Tibetan monks and refugees who fled and survived the bloody Chinese invasion of Tibet. I’ve had conversations of the kind you can only have with a man who became a monk at the age of three.

I spent two years living in an ashram in India under the guidance of a living yogi and mystic where I spent a month in silence, worked and served, and while continuing spiritual practices relentlessly for months at a time, sometimes having no more than two and half hours sleep. My experiences and encounters have humbled me and helped me to see what is important and what is not in this world. I have gained perspective and the tools to keep me happy. And so I have gone from being disillusioned with life and depressed, to where I am today – living a joyful and meaningful life.

Wellbeing has been my life’s work up until now, and today I feel that I have enough experience and wisdom to be able to share with you what I have learnt, and to help you on your own journey.
